welcome :) to some of the dumbest questions that will ever be asked.
So Today: January 15, 2011 it’s like 1:30 am…ish
I watched the caps vs canucks game a hockey game, ice hockey that is and apparently the canucks are a really good team I mean like number one in the NHL or something I am not sure if it is just their conference or the entire NHL I believe it is probably their conference because I know the caps were tied with the lightning for number one spot for the Southeastern Conference which my brother, Stone claims IS NOT A BIG DEAL which I really have no idea if it is or if it isn’t. I believe it probably should be seeing as having more titles is more to say for yourself just look at Alex Ovechkin and Crosby! I will not get into opinions about the teams however I will say I am a HUGE CAPS FAN but I do not want this to be about who I like and who I don’t I want this to be about sports for girls, girlie girls that is. I know there are a lot of girls out there who know a lot about football, baseball and hockey etc and believe me I ENVY you. You can fully appreciate a sport, carry on a conversation and have valid opinions about the skill levels of the players, teams, ref calls etc. However I cannot, and most of my friends cannot except for BL she knows a lot which is actually what gave me this idea start this whole blog thing. When ever I try and talk to her about sports I feel like an idiot because I really don’t know anything however the good thing about me is I am not afraid to look like an idiot I will ask the questions you are to embarrassed to asked. My goal of course would be able to have a newspaper column or a talk show and have important people in sports, players, owners, coaches, trainers etc and ask them the questions us girlie girls want to know, be it, what the hell does icing mean, what is a Bruin or what’s your favorite nail polish to see on a girl, is sparkly gold sexy? I completely understand some people thinking I am an idiot and I probably am, at least I am trying to work on it. So I am going to post my questions, and find the answers out. I'll take your questions etc. I'll do my best for interviews, player pictures learning stats and breaking them down for you. I will sit my fanny outside of Kettler and chase those players down, until I am famous and they are stalking me "Dream on!" in the words of HB. Like Victor Hugo once said, "There is nothing like a dream to create the future." (which ironically Braden Holtby of the Hersey Bears's favorite quote...)
My goal is to be able to go into a bar, know what the big game is and know why, know what SOG and percentages all stand for. I would love for you all to take to the ice with me. This is a girlie girls view on sports, ill break it down and break our players down ;)
So a few questions that I've observed from tonight’s game:
CAPITALS VS. CANUCKS FINAL SCORE 2-4 (CANUCKS WIN)
· What are the rules on pulling a goalie? I usually only see it in the last two minutes of the game? Is that the rule?
· What the hell is a Canuck?
· How are the Sedin twins on the same team? Did they come as a package deal? I also heard they are making 50 mil for 5 years and I am pretty sure Backy is making 67 mil for 6 years, this also may sound like a silly question but do they get it all in one large lump sum or do they get it yearly? Do they have to wait for midnight on Thursdays for their paychecks to go through…probably not.
· How do trades take into account players that are caps players but also the Hersey Bears, that is all very confusing, for example Andrew Gordon played a game or two for the Caps a few weeks ago however he is now back playing for the Hersey Bears, does this mean he could be pulled up by the Penguins for example or can he only be pulled up by the caps? Did he get paid for the game he played in?
· What is the maximum amount of middle fingers and f**bombs that are allowed on the ice?
· I remember hearing Mike Green cursing at a ref and hearing the ref threaten him, can players be thrown out of games solely because of language what about coaches?
· Why would a player completely get thrown out of a game example: Alexander Semin for slashing was out for an “undisclosed reason” for two or three games afterward, was he being punished? How does fighting and punching people in the face not result in being thrown out of a game? Like the “five for fighting, but the teams are not a player down.
· What are the times for different penalties?
· Has there ever been a time when a player punched a ref intentionally? Or a coach?
